Learn about the foundations of yoga philosophy, alignment of the most common yoga poses (asanas), and some useful breathing techniques (pranayama) in this three-week Foundations Yoga sequence. The first class will focus on Standing Poses. They strengthen the body, increase circulation, and warm up most muscle groups. The second class will include Backbends. They improve posture and keep the spine healthy. In the last class we will look at Twists. They help digestion and elimination, and increase range of motion in the spine.

Born and raised in Russia, Oxana came to New York in 2008 studying and working full-time. She took her first yoga class in 2010 and instantly fell in love with the practice, its philosophy, and the community of wonderful people that she met through yoga, including her now husband Aaron. in 2014, Oxana completed her 200-hour Teacher Training at Yoga Works NYC and Children’s Teacher Training at Yogi Beans. In both her children and adults classes, she creates a warm and safe environment so everyone can learn and play!
