Yumcha Yoga welcomes new teacher, Leah Coakley, who will be teaching three community classes at the studio.

Time: 5.45-6.45pm

Leah Coakley’s Bio in her own words:

“I began my practice in 2006 at The Yoga Room in Astoria attending class 3-4 times per week (ranging from Power Vinyasa to Restorative classes).  Upon receiving my certification to teach, I have focused on developing a Vinyasa-flow class that honors alignment, core strength, and fluidity in breath and movement.  Students are given the opportunity to enjoy the mental and physical space created through the asanas with restorative poses and meditation at the end of class. To me, there’s nothing better than a class that flows smoothly from one posture to the next while building heat to clear space, open the body, and clear the mind.  I find such joy in making that experience available to others.

Community yoga classes are taught by newly certified teachers who are trying to gain experience teaching in a studio and the community benefits through having the option of low-priced yoga classes for their practice!
