Leigh Evans, (500 E-RYT) is a yoga teacher and choreographer dedicated to awakening creativity and aliveness in the body. Leigh has over 20 years experience teaching creative, alignment based vinyasa classes. Since 1985, Leigh has studied in the Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Viniyoga traditions in the US and India. Leigh’s seasoned approach to the yoga practice can transform any student who craves insight on the body and the human experience. From the study of Yoga and Ayurveda in India to Thai Massage in Chiang Mai, Leigh’s breadth of knowledge gives her the tools to teach practical applications that can change students’ everyday lives. Through an integration of vinyasa yang and restorative yin practices, Leigh’s classes enhance the flow of prana in the body by nourishing specific energy channels and organs. Leigh has developed a holistic approach to yoga practice that imparts healing and transformation for specific health issues and seasonal imbalances. Leigh is a go-to resource for Ayurvedic Yoga, seasonal wellness practices, sleep yoga, and women’s yoga practices.

Leigh is “a teacher’s teacher” providing high-level instruction to a generation of yoga teachers. Leigh is the founder and director of Yoga Sukhavati Teacher Training Programs, offering 200 and 500 HR teacher trainings in an alignment based vinyasa practice, infused with Ayurveda, Buddhism, and women’s healing practices. From 2009-2016 Leigh was the director of the Greenhouse Holistic Teacher Training Program in Brooklyn. Leigh teaches retreats, teacher trainings, and workshops nationally and internationally.
