Jennifer has been teaching yoga for 8 years. She did her primary training through Yogaworks led by Tzahi Moskovitz. She has also studied Rope Wall training with Robert Corey and Pre-natal yoga with Julianna Mitchell. Her teaching is focused on safe and accurate alignment, and a mindful and grounded practice. You will find that her classes are engaging and challenging. She says, “Yoga can be life changing, and life saving, at the very least it will improve your day! I invite you to experience this with me.”

Victor discovered yoga as an outlet to relax, attain clarity, find strength and balance, and to keep centered and grounded. As an Occupational Therapist, he serves a diversity of clients of all ages and from all walks of life. These experiences have molded him into the yoga instructor he is today. A graduate of The Yoga Room’s 200-hour vinyasa training, Victor is now proud to guide students through a fun moving Vicyasa™ flow, while helping them break through real or perceived limitations in their practice.

Lily has been practicing yoga on and off her whole life, but once she got serious about her practice in 2012, there was no looking back. A combination of growing up in the theater, sewing costumes and medical yoga therapy training has led her to her philosophy of “yoga for safety and self-expression.” Come to sessions with her to go deep into poses, form an honest and loving relationship with your body, and above all, move like yourself.

Kasha completed her 200-Hour Teacher Training with Raghunath Cappo and Sondra Loring, and 100-Hour Hot Power Yoga Teacher Training at Pure Yoga with Tanya Bulton and Loren Basset. In her class you will work on building heat, endurance, flexibility and strength, while at the same time working with breath-centered meditation to calm and focus your mind. Her creative sequencing is often built around Surya Namaskar (sun salutations). She constantly asks herself and her students, “How do I live my practice in every moment of every day?’’

Sho is a passionate instructor who teaches from a place of loving kindness and compassion. He is best known for his fun, playful, and soothing style. With a fascination in exploring the mind and body’s potential, Sho draws inspiration from his practice in meditation, Iyengar yoga, and circus arts. He blends classical eastern philosophy and the modern western approach for a balanced class. He believes that no matter what the style, yoga should be a healing and enjoyable journey. Sho also teaches at Chelsea Piers and Pure Yoga in Manhattan.

Masako stumbled into a yoga class after having a particularly hard day in February 2001. The rest, as they say, is history. She is known for her mindful, caring, kind and light-hearted approach to yoga and to her students. Akiko’s first yoga class was taught by her Spanish choreographer when she was a dancer in Japan and France. She was amazed by how yoga can open up the whole body in all directions. The next time she felt in love with yoga was at the Hare Krishna ashram in the East Village in 2002. This time she was attracted to the emotional equanimity that yoga can bring. Akiko became a certified Yoga teacher and began teaching in 2007. But it was after 2011, the year in which a deadly earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear power plant catastrophe hit her home country of Japan, that she realized the real meaning of Yoga. After many months of healing, Akiko feels happy and fortunate just being alive, just being with her son, and practicing and teaching Yoga.

Ying teaches our Chinese classes, but is also fluent in English. She grew up in China, where she began practicing and learning to love yoga in 2002. She came to New York in 2014 and proceeded to complete her 200-hour and 500-hour teacher training with YogaWorks. She combines her studies in anatomy, her compassionate step-by-step approach, and her creativity to help students reflect on and also challenge themselves in order to achieve a more acute awareness of their bodies.

Jasmine is a fun and fearless yogi, always exploring more of herself through yoga. She takes this into her classes, setting students up to first find their foundation; once that is established, only then does she encourage them to explore. To her, yoga is a platform to express oneself and simply play. Play with shapes, play with how something feels, play with the idea that the impossible is possible. When you can do that, you open new doors you never could have imagined. Jasmine received her Vinyasa 200hr YTT with Yoga Medicine by Tiffany Cruikshank, where she trained with yogis from all over the world. Immersion Training took place in Tulum, Mexico and Big Island, HI.

Juliana was introduced to yoga by her mom when she was 10 years-old. Since then, she has been a student of the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, the Yama and the Niyama. She loves the study of anatomy and kinesiology and feels love is the final answer and the ultimate question. She has trained with the best to teach Vinyasa, Restorative Yoga, and Pre-Natal yoga for mothers-to-be. She makes raw, vegan, organic chocolates from scratch and loves cats! Juliana also teaches at Sacred Sounds Yoga (Manhattan), The Yoga Room (Long Island City), and New York Yoga (Manhattan).
Kung Fu Kids' Teacher
The iconic martial art of Shaolin kung fu is actually descended from yoga (we’re not making this up), and we’re thrilled that Liu Suo — who actually trained at the legendary Shaolin Temple in Songshan (where he picked up several medals) — is now teaching Yumcha Yoga’s kids’ Shaolin class! Liu Suo was Yen Yen’s Shaolin teacher back in the day, and is now a specialist stuntman who has appeared in Blacklist, Blindspot and Daredevil amongst numerous shows. He was also the Green Ranger in the Power Rangers live show and just finished several years performing in Cirque de Soleil’s KA. Liu Suo really puts the “Warrior” in the “Warrior” poses!
